Create Finland Visa Photo and Finland Visa Size and Requirements
A Finland visa photo follows the same official standard as the Finnish passport photo — not the generic Schengen 35×45mm size used by some other countries. Applications submitted through VFS Global or a Finnish mission abroad use these exact specifications.
Finland Visa Photo Size
- Dimensions: 36mm × 47mm (500 × 653 pixels for digital submissions).
- Background: light grey, flat, and shadow-free.
- Head height: 32–36mm from crown to chin (about 68–77% of the frame).
- Recency: taken within the last 6 months and not reused from a previous application.
Other Requirements
- Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed, face fully visible.
- Head straight and centered, shoulders facing the camera.
- No glare on glasses; dark lenses only for medical reasons.
- Religious headwear is allowed if it doesn't obscure the face.
- Two identical photos are typically required for a paper application.
